Single 40-somethings

With the divorce rate around 50%, there is a growing number of single 40-somethings . People get divorced more often. Divorce was notan option fifty years ago. (and many women bore the emotional pain to prove it.)

40-somethings singles are lrdd likely to remarry. People typically remarried soon after being widowed in the past, today people are embracing the single life instead . The growing number of 'first wives' are taking the initiative to 'live' and enjoy themselves after slaving to build someone else's career for 20 years.

The population of single 40-somethings will not drop in the near future. We are living longer. We are wealthier. We have more education. In essense, we have the power to retain our freedom and enjoy the 'freedoms' our grandfathers did. However, we do not need to endure the stigma those same grandfather's put on the women they dallied with.

The reality is - single is no longer a disease. A single person doesn't need to live without a social life, and a woman is no longer defined by the man who pays the bills.
